Hiring a TENS machine for labour from Sweet Beats is very simple – we try to make it as easy as possible so you can think about other things! We’ve included here some of the most frequently asked questions, If we’ve left anything out, just give us a call 07 3053 8852 or email [email protected].
How can I hire a TENS machine?
You can hire online here, or we can arrange your hire over the phone.
All you need to do is enter your preferred date for delivery, and go through checkout. We will book you in as soon as we receive notification of your order. Please note that our order cutoff is 2pm AEST (or AEDT in the summer months) – we need at least one business day to get the TENS machine to you. We suggest you book delivery for when you are 37 weeks pregnant, or immediately if you are past that already.
How much does it cost?
The cost to hire the TENS machine is $50 for the 5 week hire, plus $20 covering delivery (we always use an express service) and prepaid return postage.
When will I receive my TENS machine?
We will do our best to get the TENS machine to you on the date you have requested. Please be aware that the order dispatch cutoff is 2pm AEDST, and we need at least one business day to get an order to you. All orders are processed daily, so if you need your TENS machine quickly then we will dispatch immediately.
How do I return my TENS machine?
When you are ready to return your TENS machine, simply download a prepaid postal label from your ‘My Account’ page. Scroll down to your ‘Recent Orders’ and click on the ‘Return’ link. Stick this label to the front of the grey satchel that arrived with your TENS machine and hand in over the counter at your Australia Post retail outlet. As soon as you have lodged your parcel at Australia Post, our automatic tracking system will let us know and we will mark your hire complete.
Important Note – please return your TENS machine by handing it over the counter at Australia Post. If it is placed in a street-side post box we won’t receive any notification of lodgement and won’t be able to track return, so your hire may be marked overdue.
Is the TENS machine hard to use?
It’s not hard to use at all. It’s basically just a matter of connecting the wires, putting on the electrode pads and then pressing the buttons to turn the intensity up and down. It’s important to familiarise yourself with operating the unit before you go into labour though – don’t wait until the last minute!
It’s also important to be familiar with the sensation that the TENS produces, and if you are practicing any techniques for birth such as hypnobirthing or pain management skills, then practicing them with the TENS unit will help each method work together during labour.
If you have any more questions – please just give us a call. Best wishes for your birth!
